It is one of the world's oldest cities and is considered holy to the three main religions of Abraham - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The UN considers East Jerusalem to be part of Israeli-occupied or disputed Palestinian territory.
Jerusalem plays a key role in the three main monotheistic religions in the theological and emotional context. It is the object of age-old yearning for Jews throughout the world, living proof of ancient grandeur and freedom and a hub of a national renaissance; for Christians, it is the scene of the suffering and victory of Jesus.
There is no serious air pollution in Jerusalem. Its elevation ensures free surface air mixing, and there are few polluting sources apart from automotive exhaust, for there is little heavy industry. A city rich in history and home to a medley of culinary cultures, when it comes to delicious street food Jerusalem is second to none.
The first thing I learned about visiting Jerusalem is there is nothing like going hungry there. And, I would venture to say, there are very slim chances of eating a very poor meal. Food in Jerusalem is often fresh and flavourful. For instance. Easy bread or nuts from the Mahane Yehuda Market, a fast meal at a local restaurant, or four courses at a fine restaurant.
These dishes have become associated with the city and with Israeli history, a rare blend between Eastern and Western influences. Whether it's hummus, falafel, bourekas or knafeh, get acquainted with the famous street fair that gives Jerusalem its unique flavor and finds the best places to find it. Israel food is an amazing mix of flavors and cuisines.
Jerusalem Beach lies right in Tel Aviv's center. The big, sandy beach with shallow turquoise water is a regular draw for many people here. This beach is very good for swimming since there are no water sports here. During the summer months, it is mostly the young families who come here. The turquoise beaches along the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea and the Dead Sea tend to bustle with visitors
Israeli and foreign wines flow freely at this bohemian-feel restaurant, whose antique furniture and placement beneath the Jerusalem Theater draw a sophisticated, cashed crowd of revellers and literati. Generally, there's less occurring, but not only the bulk of the city's bars and other nightlife venues are open - Friday night remains one among their most vibrant.
Most of Jerusalem's big car rental companies provide one-way rentals. One-way rental is when the car is rented in one location and the car is returned in another. For most cases, if you wish to return the vehicle to a different venue, the car rental agent may charge an additional fee. It will specify in the terms and conditions whether the one-way fee is included in the rental price.
